The kit provides first aid and survival items for Airman to treat injuries sustained in the line of duty and aid in operations where military personnel and other selected individuals are enabled to emerge from an enemy-held or hostile area to areas under friendly control.

This kit is considered complete for the basic Self-Aid and Buddy Care (SABC) tier concept.
