Keep in mind that these batteries are considered hazardous material for commercial and government transport. Considered a flammable solid, they must be packaged and marked for transport as hazardous. These batteries also contain a discharge switch, allowing the batteries to become fully depleated prior to disposal.

The battery itself has a light indicator on it that allows troops to know without placing the battery in a radio to know the life of the battery simply by pushing an external button on the side of the battery. This feature takes little power to use, giving the battery a prolong life and a feature not found on most ASIP style batteries.
