The Ground Commander’s Pointer is a handheld infrared (IR) pointer and illuminator designed to enhance command and control of fires by providing covert target marking and illumination. The IR spot is invisible to the naked eye, but is fully visible to troops using I2 night vision devices. The GCP allows the commander to direct concentration of fires to key points resulting in a force multiplier.  The GCP is available in 50, 100 or 175 mW versions. Optional items allow the unit to be remotely activated or reduce reflection through aircraft canopies or ground vehicle windows.
