The RAMI254 is a direct replacement for the OE-254/GRC Antenna Group. It is comprised of fewer piece parts,
allowing for quicker assembly and erection, along with being capable of both VHF (30-88 MHz) and UHF (225-
450 MHz) operation modes. It can be deployed atop its 27 ft. mast or utilized on the ground standing on its tripod
base. It is manufactured to meet the mechanical and environmental specifications as called out in MIL-PRF-49204
(OE-254/GRC specification). The antenna comes complete with 70 ft. RG-213 transmission line (antenna to
diplexer) and two 5 ft. RG-213 transmission lines (diplexer to radio set). Additional components for full assembly
and erection (mast or ground deployed) are included in the transit bag.

The 87C1108-1 Antenna is a combined VHF/UHF airborne communications antenna. The outside surfaces of the antenna are abrasive resistance fiberglass epoxy and the inside is filled with foam to reduce the effect of extreme temperature changes, extreme humidity, and excessive shock and vibration. The antenna is produced to meet the electrical requirements of MIL-E-5400, and the environmental requirements of MIL-STD-810. Drag force on the antenna at Sea Level and at zero (0) angle of attack is 1.0 lb at 250 mph and 2.5 lb at 400 mph. The isolation between the bands is > 40 dB. A gasket for RF shielding and positive sealing is included. The antenna is coated with a Skydrol resistant lusterless CARC black paint.
